After launching his solo career with his successful song “Remedy,” WESLEY is back with his most emotional and personal song yet. WESLEY just released his new song “Don’t Have to Say You’re Sorry” which battles the struggle of addiction.
The scorchingly, sympathetic ballad shares the story of the 24-year-olds own family battle with addiction. The song opens with a recording from his sister, who shares how she “struggled intensely,” before Stromberg responds “Brother, sister/You can always count on me when you’re falling down.” The track then climbs to give you hope and ends an adorable sign off form his sister and her song, Stromberg’s nephew.
The song was released with non-profits To Write Love on Her Arms (dedicated to providing hope to those struggling with addiction, as well as depression, self-injury and suicide) as well as Shatterproof, which focuses on aiding devastation addiction causes families.
“I believe that those with addiction must feel enabled to forgive themselves and that we must always keep our doors open,” Stromberg told Billboard. “I want my sister to know my door will always be open for her, and that she will always be loved. I’m incredibly grateful to TWLOHA and Shatterproof for their commitment to those extremely important message and for working with me.”
